Judeo-Moroccan music comes from the fusion of Moroccan and Andalusian cultures
With the expansion of recording methods and of vinyl records, the music from Moroccan Jews has gone worldwide and great singers emerged.
Like for example Sami El Maghribi (who’s real name is Salomon Amzallag), who is one of the pioneers of classic Moroccan Music. In the musical style Chaâbi (popular melody), the singers Raymonde El Bidaouia and Chaikh Mwijo stand out from the rest.
More contemporary artists appear such as Vanessa Paloma, Judeo-Spanish singer, or Keren Esther who makes us discover her musical heritage based on Judeo-Spanish songs, learned from her mother, native of Tanger.
