Hélène Engel presents the album The Koenigsberg tradition (1990), published by the Beth Hatefutsoth Museum (Tel Aviv) on the occasion of Yom Kippur.
The songs that we will hear respect the chronology of the celebration of Yom Kippur and Hélène Engel will give us explanations concerning the traditions of the Jewish community of Koenigsberg.
Hélène Engel is a singer, musicologist, author, composer and arranger. She is interested in all aspects of Jewish music, from the collecting of historical sounds to today’s compositions. Based in Montreal, she hosts the radio show ” The hidden sides of Jewish Music” on Radio SHALOM Montreal.
