Screening of the movie “Simha”, by Jérôme Blumberg

Born in Düsseldorf in 1930, Simha Arom flees from Nazi Germany in 1938 with his family. But his parents will get caught and sent to Auschwitz, from where they will never come back. In 1944, Simha goes to Palestine where he enters the Symphonic Orchestra of Jerusalem. In 1963, with his work on Pygmies from Central Africa, he becomes a world known ethnomusicologist. The movie tells about his work and tumultuous life.
