On the 8th April 2019 at 7h30 PM at the Institut Elie Wiesel in Paris (75010) audiovisual conference by Hervé Roten about the melody of the Kol Nidre, as part of the Lundis de Wiesel. REGISTRATION RECOMMENDED
“Kol Nidre”, with these words starts the impressive and moving prayer introducing the most solemn day of the Jewish year, Yom Kippur. While the music of Jewish prayers are often different from one community to another, the one of the Kol Nidre is the same in all Ashkenazi communities.
That « musical anomaly » stirred the faith of the worshippers and inspired many composers, from Max Bruch to John Zorn, from Louis Lewandowski to Joachim Stutschewsky. This audiovisual conference by Hervé Roten will make us travel in musical time and space, in the heart of Jewish religious music.
