MUSICAL HERITAGE OF THE JEWS FROM FRANCE COLLECTION, VOL 6

This CD takes part in the continuation of the work done by the Foundation of French Judaism on Sefardi music, a major component of contemporary French Jewish music.

Musical creations claiming a Judeo-Spanish origin are currently quite rare. This is why the Foundation of French Judaism asked 8 composers / performers to create a new repertoire of Judeo-Spanish music for one or more guitars, sometimes with voices, the only requirement being to take inspiration from traditional thematic material. The result is outstanding! From the musical arrangements of traditional songs by the Parvarim to the Suite Séfarade by Jorge Cardoso for two guitars, from the sweet daydreams of the melodies by Narcis Bonet to the complex pieces by Gil Shohat, this CD, led by the virtuoso guitarist Liat Cohen, takes us on a musical trip suffused wth total enjoyment.
